The Eutheria or Placental mammals constitute the most succesful clade of Cenozoic vertebrates, the largest and most recognisable animals in most terrestrial, aquatic, and marine environments. Until the sudden rise to dominance of one particular eutherian species during the Late Pleistocene/Early Holocene, the Cenozoic was truly the Age of Mammals, which on most continents (apart from Austraiasia) as well as all the oceans meant Placental Mammals MAK111201.
